XML Technical Writer I

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective

Seeking an experienced XML Technical Writer to gather, analyze and compose technical information. Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology. Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Support the development of all types of documents and reports by developing and updating graphics presentation to improve the quality and enhance the usability of these documents. Participate in peer reviews and editing of documents. Responsible for integrating graphics and written data in to Electronic Technical Manuals using industry standard software tools.

  • Excellent communication skills to include the proper use of the English language, grammar and punctuation.

  • Extensible Markup Language (XML) or Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML).

  • Graphics or photo imaging software – Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage complex tasks from inception to completion.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Some travel may be required.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent related experience


Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

This position will require a security clearance or the ability to receive a security clearance.
